Used some ground chicken to make burger patties in celebration of temperatures hitting the 80s in Chicago. God thanked this by making it dip back down to the 40s the next day. Thanks god :/

Spicy tuna hand rolls from my secret spot in Morton Grove. They’re indescribably fresh and delicious, it brings a tear to my eye when the plate is empty.

Thanks y’all for sharing in our love of grub! We’re like a small foodie army, armed with forks and yearning bellies. Dangerous combo, nomsters :D
Several outstanding tacos from Big Star in Chicago. Crispy braised pork belly was outstanding and the pineapple was a great addition.

Korean bone marrow soup and a hell of a lot of little side dishes.

Some serious marbling on this $45 Kobe beef steak. Says it’s from Japan, but who knows.

In continuation of my overeating binge, I eagerly “forgot” the huge entree portions at Venus and casually placed an appetizer order… an appetizer FOR ONE.
Fried calamari tossed with green onions, soy sauce and jalapenos. Nom nom nom!
-Braised Bombshell
Black bean chicken with veggies, I couldn’t resist. It’s a fortunate Achilles heel, whenever I see anything “black bean sauce” I give in and set all other options aside. That being said, this was the first time I ate a dish like this where all the onions and veggies were diced instead of julienned. The result was a crisp bite with every forkful, Venus does it again. > . <

String beans and chicken from Venus. This place hits it out of the park every time.

There’s no better place to get eye level with the stranger side of foodstuffs. As someone who loves to be constantly exposed to “WTF” proteins these little shells did the trick for the week. This one be my last visit to my hood’s asian market.
-Braised Bombshell
My perfectly seared rib eye steak. God bless my iron skillet, a meal fit for a king in about 6 minutes (well 9 if you count letting the steak rest).
