Me standing on our booth for the sake of this shot at Nookies. Gastrodamus (hand shown) and I split the vegetarian friendly Green Goddess - eggs, swiss chard, asparagus, swiss cheese, and hash browns. We may have found our version of Icebox in Chitown.

Green Goddess breakfast skillet from Nookies in Edgewater. Major nomnoms, one of the few ways swiss chard actually tastes good ;p

Strawberry and rhubarb french toast from Nookies. Tasted only okay (way too eggy for a dessert), but the rest of the meal was incredible.

My bastardized Monte Cristo with gruyere, tomato jam, smoke turkey topped with maple balsamic vinegar.

Toad in the hole (egg in the basket) with a sprinkling of grated pecorino romano, courtesy of moi! It was quite tasty, if I may say so myself.

Our breakfast of confusion: Sunny side egg over a masala veggie patty, some rolls that never quite made it into crescent form, avocado/tomato and off camera my saganaki beta test. Ahhh breakfast just like mom used to make O_o

Slice of my homemade baked french toast. Made with fresh challach bread from Acme Bakery around the corner and chocolate chips.

Best recipe for lazy brunch makers… baked french toast! Stole the recipe from a Pinterest pinner and added semi-sweet chocolate chips because since when is adding chocolate to anything a bad thing.
Double layered challah bread and a brown sugar glaze at the bottom and top of the casserole is key.

Made breakfast this past weekend. Baked egg and turkey tarts with garlic toast. It’s easy to make, simply take thin deli sliced turkey and place it in muffin pan cups, crack an egg into the turkey “cup” and add salt, pepper, chives, and red pepper flakes. Bake at 350 degrees for about 9-11 minutes depending on how runny you like your yolks.

Gruyere whisked egg whites with fresh yolk baked in the oven. Gruyere toast with tomato jam and sliced orange grape tomatoes. All courtesy of Gastrodamus.

After hearing so much about Josh’s Deli in Surfside, we wanted to see if all the hype was just standard Miami hoopla (aka “like bro you gotta try dis place bro). I ordered the eggs scramble with spinach and mushrooms with latka and rye toast. It was decent, definitely decent for Miami. Oh maybe I was won over by the $4 mimosas…
