What better way to cure a hangover than cheese, tons and tons of gooey cheese and eggs and bread and CHEESE!
So I self-medicated with Oliver’s stuffed popover, sans sausage.

Rise and shine! Veggie omelet to the rescue.
-Braised Bombshell
Being the little ambitious gluttons we are, we managed to squeeze in an amazing brunch right before catching our flight back home at Stacks. Black Angus and I slurped down our mimosas in between bites, you know to catch our breaths. I ordered the Greek omelet which hit the spot.

Started off our west coast morning with brunch at First Awakenings in Monterey, CA. To be frank the only reason I picked this dish was the stuffed mushrooms, and I’m so happy my chubby instincts didn’t fail me. Oh and those side potatoes were severely addictive.

Man’s brunch: eggs, sausage, and bacon! From Nido.
-Gastrodamus
So after hearing about Nido, a secret mozzarella bar in Mimo hood, Gastrodamus and I tried it out for brunch today. Really I just needed any excuse to spend the day out in the sun, this served well.
I had the omelet with onions, tomatoes, spinach, and mozzarella. Simple but good. Bellini didn’t hurt either.

Mexican eggs Benedict from Jam ‘n Honey in Chicago: toasted English muffin topped with ground chorizo, pepper jack cheese, perfectly poached eggs and a cheesy chipotle hollandaise. WHAT!!?? YES! yes indeed my friends… run there now!

Early morning cereal at the MIA airport…
-Braised Bombshell
Stopped by French bistro Maison in Mexico City’s Polanco district, because why not? Helped myself to a veggie egg-white omelet to balance out the previous night’s Mexican comfort food splurge.
Oh and yeah that’s grilled cactus on the side… they grow wild in France. Mexico told me so.
