Winos, they roam wild in the city. As widespread as monkeys in New Delhi. Rosy-nosed and hiccuping epicureans, they indulge in their primal urge for the sweet taste of grape’s nectar. How would I know? Not only have I spent my collegiate years and beyond studying their behavior out in the open, asphalt safari but I too am a proud wino. And thanks to Food & Wine’s latest August issue, I took solace in their mention of India’s preferred wine: Sula. Needless to say, I conducted my own tastings in the confines of my New Delhi hotel room.
