Veggie time! Portobello panini from Lemoni Cafe.
-Gastrodamus
Went to Ouzo’s (formerly our fav Greek restaurant Anise) for din din and ordered the Bogatsa, a vanilla and lemon custard baked in filo dough. The owner informed us it’s her own ya-ya’s recipe. Ya-ya would be very proud, it’s delicious.
-Braised Bombshell
Before heading back to Chicago, Gastrodamus indulged one last time on Ni.Do Cafe’s gnocchi.
-Braised Bombshell
Raspberry cake from Ni.Do Cafe in Eastside Miami. So freakin’ good, but their lemon cake wins hands down.
-Braised Bombshell
The boneless and skinless chicken breast from Blue Collar. I ordered a side of curried cauliflower (seriously good if you’re not intimidated by burping curry for the next two hours or on a date) and the kale (just downright amazing).
This meal had me eating my words after cursing this place for so many months after a first shitty experience.
-Braised Bombshell
Gastrodamus’s fav banh mi sandwich (he says the light, airy bread is what makes is so damn amazing) from Pho 78, the original… straight up mayo, pate, pickled carrots, onions, cilantro, and jalapeno. He drenches his in hoisin and loads of sriracha in order to reenact dragon scenes from GOT.
-Braised Bombshell
Shrimp and grits, New Orleans style from Blue Collar.
-Gastrodamus
So after hearing so many people rave about Blue Collar, Gastrodamus and I decided to give it a second shot. The first time we went was its opening weekend and it was unarguably HORRENDOUS! My fish was bone dry and Gastrodamus’ burger tasted like Styrofoam. Oh and for some mysterious reason he ended up in the hospital as soon as we paid our bill. HA!
I’ll give it up to the upsets and hectic craziness of opening weekends because our second chance was quite good. We ordered the mac n’ cheese since everyone on foursquare couldn’t say enough about it. Not bad, but I still prefer my friend’s grandma’s southern recipe.

Pho Ga from Pho 78.
-Braised Bombshell
Just looking at this lemon cake makes me so happy, I can’t hold back my grin. When sweets bring out that much sunshine from a cynical soul, you know this shit is good. Gastrodamus and I devoured the entire slice at Ni.Do Cafe.
-Braised Bombshell
Steak tartare from Ni.Do Caffe, topped with quail egg.
-Gastrodamus
Vegetarian egg rolls, always a trusty tummy feeder.
-Braised Bombshell
A rare if not nearly impossible find in Miami: soupy Shanghai dumplings from Philip Ho. Party of One.
-Braised Bombshell
Dim sum from Philip Ho in Sunny Isles. First time having sesame balls, I didn’t expect them to be sweet but no complaints.
